Just one more mile...

Race day is almost here! On Saturday, I'll finally be running the half-marathon that I mentioned in this post.  These past few months have been such an incredible journey of self-examination for me.  I think the Lord is constantly reminding me that nothing worth doing is easy. We (Mommy McCoy included) often think a task or process should be effortless, and if it's not...well then completion just isn't worth doing.  The truth is...the things that matter the most in this life involve the hardest work - the blood, sweat, and tears!

I ran ten miles on Sunday (without walking or stopping - yeah!) and it was one of the most physically challenging things I've ever done.  I remember thinking to myself, "Just one more mile...one more step! Keep going! You can do it!" Oh how my legs ached and I wanted to quit so badly! Yet, I kept on!

We are truly capable!

I think the Lord is showing me this too. He's created us to be and to do so much more than we ever thought possible!

I am very nervous and anxious for Saturday but I am ready to go and give it my all! The Lord is doing so much in my life and in the lives of my family.  I'm excited to hopefully come back with a great race day report and then to share some other wonderful (and some sad too) changes He's making!  I am confident today more than ever that He makes all things good!

For the handful of you that I know who are also running the 1/2, I'm cheering for you!  May the Lord give you strength and endurance as you fight the good fight, finish the race, and keep the faith!

Waaaahhhhh! I am BEYOND PROUD of you! But I wish I was celebrating WITH you! :)

You are a runner! You will do just fine in the race, and what an amazing time you'll have! Remember at Christmas when we were just tossing the idea of a half-marathon around?? Look how far you've come!!

By the way, I wore my new running top last week for the first time ~ And, boy was I fast! ;)

Love you!!!

Suddenly, God, you floodlight my life; I'm blazing with glory, God's glory! I smash the bands of marauders, I vault the highest fences. What a God! His road
stretches straight and smooth.
Every God-direction is road-tested. Everyone who runs toward him makes it. (Psalm 18:28-30, The Message)

He has been your strength and your help and come Saturday, YOU WILL MAKE IT! I'm so thrilled for you and even more proud of you!

Since I can't be there on Saturday, here's my applause: CLAP, CLAP, CLAP (standing ovation)

I love you!
