It's funny how everything changes when you have a kid, and you can't really understand that until you have children of your own. I know all you new mommies out there are totally nodding your heads in agreement on this one. I can't even imagine how things change after adding another baby to the family!
I think we'll all say that it's a wonderful transformation...a big one...but wonderful no less! The biggest thing I've noticed about myself is that there are many things that used to be important to me that just aren't anymore.

I remember walking into school one day during my last few months of teaching. I was extremely pregnant and sporting a new cute bag on my shoulder. A friend and coworker of mine said, "Enjoy those pretty purses now! After that baby gets here, you'll be rocking a diaper bag." I laughed and probably agreed, but in my head I remember thinking, "That poor girl! Her baby ate all her style." Now, I've pretty much sold all my bags and bought different things for my angel. I guess Rowe baby ate up my style too. =)

Completely.
Change for the better. Mom's learn to give and don't worry about getting. Mom's learn to serve others—not nearly as concerned about being served. Mom's don't hesitate to provide what their babies need (and more) even if it means their own needs get neglected. The list goes on and on. So many things we don't "get" until we have a wee-one to care for.
Being a Mom is the greatest gift ... and then there's being a Naunie. We are so blessed, dear one.
Spoken like an experienced Momma!- I tried to lug around Kate's diaper bag and my usual massive purse at first and then I realized I had to give up the purse :) And I love my bags too!
Love reading other mommy's stories on mommyhood! def. a life altering adventure, but SO worth it. Oh, and my own sweet momma tried to give me an old pair of her jeans so I wouldn't have to buy any more until I lose all my weight and they were def. Mom Jeans! They made for a good laugh and they were the most unflattering things Ever! :)
You said it all perfectly sister! I never carry a purse anymore...but sure do miss my handbag collection. We should have a purse party and all swap!
Ashley I just started carrying a purse again...though I sadly acknowledge that I'll give it up in heartbeat if it means I get to lug around a diaper bag again ;)
I also just went on my first major shopping trip since Drew was born...crazy! And I willingly clip my fingernails short because long ones drive Drew insane...nevermind that I use to keep gorgeous, long, painted nails all the time.
Of course, I've also never felt joy like this in my life or felt such an instant bond with other women who are moms like us. There are probably a million things that have changed since becoming a mom...and I wouldn't trade them for anything!
